Hi I’m Barney and I have a favor to ask…just look into my eyes…keep looking…you’re getting sleepy…very sleepy…now, WAKE UP because you want to adopt me! I’m approximately 8 months old, up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and my guess is I'm a Lab/Shepherd/herding breed mix. The vet told my foster mom, I’m going to be a big boy - probably 55+ pounds. I love playing with my foster dog & cat friends but I'm still a high-energy puppy so sometimes I get on the older dogs nerves and they don't want to play with me. When I’m not playing, I’m cuddling with my awesome foster mom and dad. I’m walking well on the leash, learning simple commands, crate trained and house trained. I’ve been thinking a lot about my perfect family and am now taking applications. The perfect candidate/s should be semi-active to active as I think I would enjoy a nice walk through a neighborhood park or playing at a local dog park. They should like the outdoors like me – maybe we can go running, hiking or camping, but I would also love chasing a ball in my very own back yard. If you think you’re my perfect match, please submit an application on the Adoption page at: www.dirtroaddoggiesrescue.org. Don’t forget to mention my name.

About Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, INC

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small canine rescue group located in Northeast Georgia that works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, fully vet, and rehome faithful dogs that have been tossed out of cars onto rural roads. We are a registered, 501c3 tax deductible Non Profit Rescue and we are licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture

All dogs in our program have been previously reported to animal control to ensure they were not lost pups who had a family diligently looking for them. We do not turn a dog away due to breed, health concerns, or age. It is our goal to keep these dogs out of animal shelters, thus saving their lives and providing more time to the dogs already in shelters to find their forever family.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, INC is located in the quaint town of Gillsville, in the foothills of the Georgia Mountains, just south of Gainesville. Our rescues are fostered in loving homes located in Hall, Jackson, and neighboring counties.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption is a four part process.

Application: You will be required to submit general information along with personal and vet references.

Home visit: Potential adopters will receive a home visit by one of our members.

Meet -n- Greet: All family members (fur babies included) must meet the foster parent and pup they wish to adopt.

Here at Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, each adoption contribution is $200 per dog. We do not adjust this rate based on the "popularity" of a dog. We believe every dog is worthy of an owner that sees the value in them. Each adoption contribution is used to cover the expenses incurred for that dog and other dogs in our program.
