**Ellie is currently being fostered in Houston and her adoption will be long-distance. Meaning it will unfortunately not be possible to meet her in person prior to the adoption. Her adoption donation is $500USD, which includes transport and she is fully vetted. Unfortunately, the flights are very expensive, so the fee is non-negotiable.**

We are not really sure where our most beautiful girl came from, just that she ran out in front of the car of a Good Samaritan while running down the highway early one morning and scooped her up so she didn't get hurt. We tried for a couple of weeks to find her family, but after having no luck, got her in for her vet care so she can head off to her forever life!

Ellie is an AMAZING dog who is going to make a fantastic addition to a family's life. She is sweet, loving, and very well behaved. She is kennel and house trained, rides nice in the car, loves to go for a nice long walk and then snuggle at the end of the day.

Ellie is approximately 2-3 years old and fully grown at 50 pounds. She is a calm girl, but does love to play ball and stretch out in the sunshine. She is a great activity level for a walking or jogging buddy and will be a great partner in adventure for her family.

She does really well with other dogs and has had some positive interactions with cats. She has been socialized with dogs of all sizes and has been really well behaved with all of them. She would also be great with kids who are respectful of animals.

Ellie is kennel and house trained and is a very good girl in the house. That said, her adoptive family should be one who understands that she may take some time to acclimate to her new life and surroundings. Which means she may have accidents or cry in her kennel as she adjusts. Ellie's adoptive family should be one who plans to keep her as an inside pet - we do not adopt dogs to families who plan to keep them outside for extended periods of time - for example, the entire workday.

Unfortunately, Ellie did not have the best care before she was found and she is heartworm positive. This is not life threatening and she does not have symptoms, but it is something that will require medication monthly for the next year. The rescue will supply the medication as well as provide the guidance for getting her through the protocol.

Ellie has been fully vetted (spayed, shots, microchipped) and is a healthy gal. She has no known allergies.

The first step in Ellie's adoption is to fill out an application that can be accessed via our website at - if you hover over the adoptables tab, the link to the adoption application will appear.

About Reggie's Friends- Vancouver

About Our Rescue Group...

Reggie’s Friends was founded out of our love for helping dogs. Living in a city of 1.2 million homeless animals, there was rarely a day when we didn’t see a dog in need of help. Instead of just wanting to do something, we figured out how to do something! Reggie’s Friends is dedicated to the health and welfare of dogs in and around the greater Houston, TX area. We focus our attention on helping shelter dogs, street dogs, and dogs who have been abandoned in boarding facilities find loving, forever families.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process begins with an adoption application. Our team will take some time to review it and once approved, a home visit is required. We require an adoption contract and an adoption fee to be paid prior to the pet joining their new family.
