Norton's Story...
Norton is what I go by here! So happy to meet you! This is what my foster family had to say about me: "Norton is one cool, little dog. He was a pleasure to have around the house and super easy to introduce to my home and our pack of dogs (4 to be exact). He seems to enjoy life very much! He eats whatever he is given, enjoys a good treat, is house trained if let out with reasonable amount of time in between, does really well during car rides and he loves a good cuddle! He is not a chewer and could be trusted to be left out of a crate while I was at work." Don't I sound just wonderful? Then stop by and visit with me today! Because he is an adult rescue without much known about his past Norton is looking for a family with children 10 years and older.
Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold. To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information, we encourage you to visit our shelter in person. Due to the high volume of interest, email and phone inquiries may not be returned on a daily basis. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! 978-283-6055 x10 for reception desk

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Norton, a Gloucester Pug/Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug/Beagle for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Pug/Beagle dog from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug/Beagle breeders who help with Pug/Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
