Bindi & Joey's Story...
Bindi & Joey are heeler siblings, ready to put their paws in a home called their own. They are ready to learn that not all humans are bad.
B&J wandered up on a porch to seek shelter & just "give in" to how sick they were getting. Upon picking them up, Joey bolted, leaving his sickly sister behind. She felt defeated, she didn't care. We knew immediately that she was drenched in a thick substance, being motor oil but didn't understand why. She had all her hair and no missing patches. It was when Joey was captured, a little later, we saw his bare back. He was drenched also, bubbly, yeasty smelling. We knew someone used the horrible (non)remedy of burnt motor oil to try & treat mange.
The vet confirmed sarcoptic & demodex, plus secondary infections with chemical burns from the motor oil. Treatment and antibiotics began immediately. We hated seeing them in pain.
During that, Bindi caught our eye, she was either really stubborn ..or deaf. It was hard to determine as she had adjusted so young, she was quick to catch movement, vibration, or her brother's response...in which could pass that she heard you. Yet, walking into her room, while she slept, she stayed sound asleep until you touched her and that startled her. Finally, there was no doubt & our vet got the same results.
Deafness does not hold Bindi back. I even tease my teenager that Bindi still listens to me, better than she does!!😂😂
Bindi & Joey would benefit better if they were separated. Bindi does not solely rely on Joey & attaches quickly to any friendly dog or human that wants to play with her. They do get along great together but tend to be quite the handful!!
They are heelers & they carry such characteristics, with occasional herding. They get along with all dogs, but smaller dogs do seem to get more of the herding end. Medium/ larger dogs would be preferred. Children, toddlers, kids, men, women, they love them all! Exercise/running (for both), daily, is highly recommended!!
8-10 months old, weigh around 20+lbs, fully vetted, heartworm negative, house trained, treat motivated, snuggle bunnies, & just simply crave love!
All hair has completely grown back & their beautiful silver fur shows no signs of their horrible past!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bindi & Joey, a Hollis Australian Cattle Dog/Lancashire Heeler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog/Lancashire Heeler for sale in Hollis, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog/Lancashire Heeler dog from a breeder in Hollis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hollis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hollis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog/Lancashire Heeler breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog/Lancashire Heeler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hollis paves the way for another one to be saved.
