Roxy's Story...
I am a very sad kitty. My special person died & the family dumped me at the scary shelter. In the month that I was there all I did was stay curled up in a ball. I miss my owner and don't understand any of this. At my foster home I hid under the bed for a week curled in a ball. My foster mother put me in a pen so she could pet me. While I love being petted, when it's over I curl back into a ball. At night I cry for hours for my owner. My foster mom put a little kitten in with me to keep me company. I like him and have stopped crying at night. I still have not totally come out of my shell, but am starting to show a little more interest in life. I need a quiet home with a loving, patient person. It would be best if I was kept in a bathroom at first where it will make it easy to interact with me. If you let me loose in the house I will just find a place to hide. I am a sweet, loving kitty. I have no front claws so I won't scratch your furniture.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Roxy, a Tampa Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Tampa, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Tampa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tampa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tampa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tampa paves the way for another one to be saved.
