Fern's Info...

I am a special needs pet and good with dogs.

Fern's Story...
Fern is an older lady, maybe Jack Russell/Heeler mix, about 22 pounds and 8 or more years old. She is friendly and good with other dogs too. Her problem is her eyesight. No obvious cataracts or retinal atrophy to our untrained eyes, but she definitely does not see well. Likely sees shadows and shapes, but is not quite sure where to put her feet or how to navigate strange places.

An adoption fee may be required which helps cover some of the care and veterinary services provided, including spay for females, neuter for males, vaccinations, de-worming and heartworm testing when age appropriate.

This dog is housed at the Franklin County Small Animal Control shelter. The Humane Society graciously allows the shelter dogs to be posted under their account, but they have no direct knowledge and can answer no questions about the dogs housed there. Please use the contact email address provided for any questions.

Email adopt@ebrookville.com with any questions. We use the application available through the Franklin County Humane Society to help make a good forever home match. Online application available at members.petfinder.com/~IN19/adoptionapplication.htm. Please use the contact email provided here if you are following up on an application. Good luck finding your new best friend!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fern, a Metamora Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Metamora, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Metamora.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Metamora already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Metamora breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium)/Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Metamora paves the way for another one to be saved.
