My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Can we bottle this cuteness?! This is Haylo, a male blue merle Australian Shepherd born on 4/29/2016. He is currently about 35lbs.

This soft, fluffy, sweet and adorable boy is mostly blind. He was not born this way and is a perfectly healthy puppy. He lost his vision at 9 weeks of age due to an accident.

Haylo radiates happiness, joy and love. He does not like to be treated as if he has a handicap but more of a hiccup. Haylo is just like a regular high-energy Aussie puppy wanting to explore the world, play with other dogs, go for walks, learn, be showered with attention and love, show off his smarts and keep you on your toes! He has done amazing with his basic training and is so attentive to your soft voice. Haylo is also crate trained and sleeps through the night. Haylo loves the water........he likes to clean his paws in the bathtub before bed. And weather permitting garden hose please!

Haylo loves his foster brother (who has similar energy level), loves toys (squeaky toys, rope toys, interactive toys etc.), is good in the car and enjoys training time because he gets his favorite snack of little baby carrots! Haylo likes to be on the go but once he has settled down he is a snuggle bug. Haylo also has at least one meal from his Bob-A-Lot interactive toy puzzle (it wobbles around while he works to get his food out) and he loves it!

Haylo is a high energy Aussie and will be a standard size at adult age. He can be vocal so therefore we can not consider apartments. Haylo has amazed his foster home with his "can do" attitude! There is five (5 steps) that lead out the back door to the yard where he is fostered. Haylo is so confidence on these steps now! His foster has caught him flying off the third step (on purpose) to get to playtime faster. Though he doesn't go down the 12 steps to the basement (yet) he will do just fine with some stairs in the home. Haylo has also been exposed to more noises of the world and has adjusted wonderfully. Instead of being scared he will now give a bark letting them know "I hear you and I'm not scared anymore!". Such a big boy at 6 months! However, he still does not like it when people yell or fight. Haylo is all about love, peace and harmony.

This sweetheart is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all of his vaccinations; bordetella, distemper and rabies. Haylo also had a negative fecal. Haylo was tested for MDR1 and he does not have the mutation. He takes Heartgard and Frontline every month.

Haylo is being fostered in St.Louis, Missouri.
