Hello friends! I’m Sneezy, one of seven kittens from the "7 Dwarfs" litter. We were discovered on a farm when we were about six weeks old and have been growing and thriving in a loving King Street Cats foster home ever since. Now we’re all ready for our forever homes.

I’m extremely shy and easily scared, but really loving. I don’t like to be picked up and hugged right now.  It will take quite some time for me to get acclimated to a new environment and to new people. I am easily spooked by sudden, loud noises and movements. Lots of love and attention has been a great way for me to overcome my skittish nature with people. I will let you know when it’s okay to pet me. I will come to you, circle through your legs, and show you my belly.

I like to play with toys or my siblings, run, and sleep. I run really fast and explore dark cool places where I can find hidden toys.  I’m really quiet most of the time, but I’ll let you know when it’s time to eat or play. You will be happy when I choose to spend time with you.

My siblings and I love to play and burn up our kitten energy! I would love to go home with either Bashful or Doc as they are my very best friends.  It's very important for young kittens like us to have the benefits of same-species companionship - would you consider adopting us in a group or in pairs?

Same-species companionship greatly enhances our quality of life. We provide each other with stimulating play. We moderate each other's behavior. We burn off our energy together - this is very important for indoor housecats. We provide each other with grooming services free of charge. We sleep, cuddle and snuggle together.

We comfort each other and keep each other engaged when you are off doing the things that keep you away from us. In return, you get twice the love, affection and happiness. You have peace of mind knowing that when you have the leave us, we'll be fine together until you return.

If you are interested in a sweet, shy, loving cat who will give you all the love in the world if you give me a little bit of time to warm up, please send an email to  to inquire about adopting me!  Check out the pages for my siblings Bashful and Doc! You will want to take me and one of my siblings home with you right away!

About King Street Cats

About Our Shelter...

We are proud to be the only cat-exclusive orphanage in Alexandria, Va. We have been in operation since 2003, and were previously known as The Albert Foundation for many years before becoming King Street Cats. Because we are a free-roaming and no-kill cat orphanage, we have the "cat-friendliest cats" in town! Our primary purpose is to educate and assist the community in regard to cat welfare, and to provide loving homes for the cats and kittens in our care. We accomplish this through outreach to the local community by providing information on proper cat care, behavioral problems and medical issues involving cats. We also assist local residents in locating and retrieving lost cats and assist individuals through the cat adoption process. We provide abandoned and rescued cats and kittens with a safe and secure temporary home until a permanent, loving home can be found.

We promote spaying and neutering and all our cats and kittens are sterilized and fully up-to-date on all medical care prior to adoption. We also provide post-adoption support for adopters and anyone else that needs cat care advice. Because we only work in the area of cat welfare .... we know cats! Please stop by and visit with our friendly cats.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process is simple. When you come to the adoption center, you will fill out an application and a volunteer will interview you and ask about your cat knowledge and experience as well as your other pets. If your application is approved, they will help match you to the cat is perfect for your home and lifestyle. Some adult cats may be adopted singly, but we prefer to adopt out kittens in pairs unless you have a playful cat or dog already in residence to keep the kitten company.

King Street Cats asks for a $125 non-refundable adoption fee to adopt a cat or kitten, or $225 to adopt two. The fee includes:

- A cat that has been to a vet and tested for FELV/FIV. They are not put up for adoption unless the tests are negative (although sometimes we do have an FIV-positive cat that is healthy and can be adopted).
- An adult cat that is up-to-date on vaccinations before being made available for adoption. (Kittens will have had vaccinations appropriate for their age)
- Cats and kittens are spayed or neutered before they are placed for adoption. Kittens are spayed/neutered between 12-14 weeks and are then available for adoption.
- Post-adoption support: our volunteers are very knowledgeable about cat care. We encourage adopters to call us with any questions.
