Fred is an approximately 10 month old, 15lb neutered male terrier mix.
This playful little puppy can be shy at first but then warms up, and once he falls in love with his people he is super loyal and loving. Fred does still have a lot of puppish energy and likes to play and cheew on toys, and he can play a little rough and mouthy so we wouldn't recommend a house with very young children. He is very smart, can sleep in a crate (although he prefers the bed!) and is almost there with his housebreaking. He will need help perfecting his leash manners, but plays well with other dogs off leash. He doesn't react to cats.
Fred needs someone who can provide positive training, and will not leave him alone for long periods of time until he builds confidence. Though he was in a home with a family in Los Angeles, he is nervous in NYC and needs careful handling.
Fred is up to date on shots and microchipped.
Fred was rescued in LA as part of our Waggy West rescue mission to bring At Risk dogs, one by one to NYC for adoption! We are always looking for volunteer chaperones to bring at risk dogs like him with them on their next LA-NYC flight, we pay the dog's ticket and provide a carrier! Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help!
