Meet the Peanuts Gang! This is their story. When they were brought into the shelter the folks only brought the puppies. A volunteer picked them up an hour after they were dropped off and could tell they had been eating so knew there had to be a momma in the picture. The shelter didn't ask any questions as far as we know bc they said they were abandoned. The volunteer wasn't buying that story and was able to get the number for the folks that brought the pups in. They are re ally nice people and invited her to their home to show her where they found the puppies. On the trip she learned there were actually 2 mommas. One of them has a foot missing and an injured leg that she was dragging, guessing she was caught in a trap... The other was fine. They are both very scared, possibly feral. Two of the pups are a week if not 2 weeks older than the others. So these guys are from 2 different litters. There is also a possible daddy running around with the mommas, a white pitbull. The people said that the puppies were washing down the hillside as it rained and they could hear them crying. They went and collected the 9 that went into foster. They were covered in more fleas than the volunteer has ever seen. These babies are lucky those folks found them. Over the next few weeks with all the babies safe and sound traps were set and eventually all 3 adults were caught. The dad's owner was located and the females although secured, were able to escape and are still on the loose. Volunteers in the area continue to try and locate the two moms and we will take them into rescue if/when they are able to be recaptured.

About Our Rescue Group...

Mostly Muttz Rescue is an IRS registered, 501(c)3, public charity that is an all-volunteer, foster based canine rescue striving to keep man’s best friend from dying alone in the shelter system.

We believe that every dog, regardless of health, deserves at least a fighting chance to live, to love and to be loved for the entirety of their life. At Mostly Muttz Rescue, we often choose to save dogs suffering from curable illnesses within the shelter system rather than rescuing dogs that will be easy to place.
