Spot's Story...
Spot is a young hound mix who cannot wait to find his forever home. He is about 50 lbs, and because of his age, he is all done growing but came into the shelter a little underweight. What he really wants is a family and a home to call his own. Maybe it's with you? He is a handsome guy looking for a home that can provide daily exercise-but is generally a mellow guy once he has a chance to burn off a little energy. If you make him part of your family he will pay it back every day with snuggles and love. Staff and volunteers at the Ranch don't yet know how well he will do with cats. Spot is doggie door trained and so he may only need a need a refresher on house training once he gets his own new digs with you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Spot, a Yreka Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever for sale in Yreka, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Yreka.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Yreka already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Yreka breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Yreka paves the way for another one to be saved.
