My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jake from State Farm!
Hound Mix
Approx. 1 yr old

Well hello there, I'm Jake! Some say, WHO? Ya know, Jake, from State Farm! Oh, alright, alright, I'm originally from Tennessee, but not I'm living the good life in IL with my foster family.

So, what can I say, I'd really like to find a family of my very own! I think I'm a pretty great guy and my foster mom thinks I'm just the best too! I walk well on a leash and I'm a handsome boy, what more could you ask for?!

Alright, alright, you want more, huh?? Well, my favorite thing in the world is to be outside! I would love to find a family who has a fenced yard, somewhere that I can just lounge around, watch the squirrels, and chase the drifting leaves. I love to chew on sticks and run around the backyard at my foster home. I enjoy occasional walks as well!

When I'm in the house, I love toys and chews, but I need the durable kind as a favorite pastime of mine is pulling all the guts out of those soft toys and making it look like it snowed in your living room! I get along great with other dogs but cats drive me a little batty.

I am trained to go in the crate when you leave the house. I am housebroken as long as you make sure to let me out enough, though I think it may be best for me if I find a family who has someone home some of the day.

I also really enjoy getting to sleep in my foster mom's bed at night and I'd love to find someone who thinks that is alright too. I'd really like to meet you and I'm hoping to find my forever family soon!

Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email safehavendogsIL@yahoo.com for an application or additional details.

Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.

Please consider becoming a foster home while you search for your new best friend. We need foster homes - pounds are overflowing with puppies and adult dogs that are at-risk and need help. We can only rescue as many as we have foster home commitments. Fostering is a rewarding experience for your family.
