Handsome, cuddly, quiet and sweet as pie! What more could someone want in a pup? Monty is our adorable Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix who is about 1 ½ years old, only 8 pounds and fits that description perfectly. He may be tiny in size, but he is hugely awesome and affectionate. He was found living at a very busy gas station just off of a major highway where he was surviving on scraps of food from the commuters. With a handful of ribs, a leash and a prayer, he was rescued by one of our volunteers and instantly became best friends with her. That’s all in the past now and he’s ready to start his future with a new family.

Now that Monty has settled in nicely with his foster family, we know that he is fully house trained, playful, happy-go-lucky and very rarely barks. Monty loves life now! When he’s feeling spunky, he entertains us by running little figure eights all around the living room or playing with his new toys. He can be frisky or mellow; loves to sun himself on the deck, get belly rubs, romp around in the yard and chase squirrels. He looks forward to his daily walks around the neighborhood and visits to the dog friendly eateries, so he’s hopeful that his new family includes him in all of their adventures.

Monty’s biggest LOVE is to cuddle and curl up with his people. He is the picture perfect lap dog, movie watcher and car passenger. He has really enjoyed spending a lot of time with his foster mom and even goes to work with her a couple of days a week. Monty is very much a people lover and wants to spend as much time as he can with his family, so he is asking for a new pack that will smother him with affection and not leave him alone for long periods of time. He has a very cute habit of burrowing under the blanket on his back, so if you’ll allow him to sleep with you, he’d be over the moon, otherwise he’s just as happy to snuggle up in his doggy bed and blanket on the floor.

Monty is a healthy little guy; current on all of his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. He’s a perfect, loyal friend who adores all adults and children, gets along well with dogs and even lives peacefully with a cat in his foster home. Sometimes he will chase the kitty, but he’s just trying to play with him and will stop when the kitty no longer shows interest. Overall, he is a true delight!

Monty wants a family of his own and will be the best little love bug for whoever adopts him. If he sounds like the perfect addition to your family, please don’t hesitate to complete the adoption application at If you have any questions about Monty, please feel free to email us at We would love to introduce you to our sweet little man and add a ton of joy into both his life and yours!

About Duck Team 6 Street Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Our niche is rescuing elusive dogs who have been living on the streets of Dallas, Tx. We spend days, weeks and sometimes months trying to catch a certain dog. The dogs then move into loving foster homes so they can be part of a family and learn more about home life. We have found that these dogs are extremely resilient and quickly adapt to life off the streets and make great additions to a family!

The dogs are vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, spayed/neutered and heartworm tested (and treated if positive). We spend a lot of time and energy getting these dogs off the streets so are very diligent in who they go to. We want to make sure it's going to be the ideal fit for both the adopter and the dog. We help them find the loving home they deserved all along! Please visit our facebook page to follow more of our adventures:
