Our tiny Monty is quite a happy-go-lucky boy! He was found living at a very busy gas station just off of a major highway. There were people constantly throwing him scraps of food, but his surroundings were incredibly dangerous for any dog, much less one his size. Monty is an 8 pound, Miniature Pinscher and Chihuahua mix and about 1 ½ years old. He may be tiny in size, but his personality is big and wonderful!

While living at the gas station, he was untrusting and would not allow anyone to get close enough to help him. The staff was very concerned, but didn’t know how to help him other than feed him. One of our experienced volunteers saw him cross a very busy road and decided she wasn’t leaving without him. With a handful of ribs, a leash, a prayer and lots of time, he was caught and the beginning of his new life started. It took him about 30 minutes to become friends with her and now he is super social, trusting and loves new people.

The first whole week that he was part of the Duck Team 6 family, he finally felt safe and just rested. He proved to us that he is the friendliest and most adaptable little guy who loves to cuddle, sit in your lap, sun on the deck and just be by his people. He is a mellow boy, but does enjoy romping around the backyard and chasing squirrels and bugs.

Monty is current on all of his vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and eager to meet his forever family. He’s very much a loyal lap dog and hopes to find a family that is home more than away so he can have company. He loves people, gets along well with all other dogs and even does very well with his toddler friend. He lives with a cat in his foster home, but he does like to chase him a little bit, although it is out of fun and curiosity, not aggression (not to mention he is half the size of many cats). He is crate and house trained and ready to roll out of his foster’s home and into the heart of his new family.

If you are interested in adopting Monty, please don’t hesitate to complete the adoption application at because he won’t stay here long before someone finds this lovebug. If you have any questions to help determine if Monty is a perfect fit for your family, please feel free to email us at We would love to introduce you to our sweet little man and hopefully find his lifelong happiness!

About Duck Team 6 Street Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Our niche is rescuing elusive dogs who have been living on the streets of Dallas, Tx. We spend days, weeks and sometimes months trying to catch a certain dog. The dogs then move into loving foster homes so they can be part of a family and learn more about home life. We have found that these dogs are extremely resilient and quickly adapt to life off the streets and make great additions to a family!

The dogs are vaccinated, de-wormed, microchipped, spayed/neutered and heartworm tested (and treated if positive). We spend a lot of time and energy getting these dogs off the streets so are very diligent in who they go to. We want to make sure it's going to be the ideal fit for both the adopter and the dog. We help them find the loving home they deserved all along! Please visit our facebook page to follow more of our adventures:
