Fiona's Story...
Fiona was rescued from a high kill shelter, betrayed by the family that loved her til she started getting older. Alone and stressed at the shelter she hid away from the publics view waiting for her family to come back, they never did. Spark Rescue heard that Fiona was out of time and sprung her out of that shelter. Fiona was transported to Santa Barbara and went for a routine vet exam and she was as healthy as could be but her teeth needed a deep cleaning and some tooth extractions.

Fiona is a sweet gal who enjoys her walks, car rides and cuddle time. She is a very easy going gal and looks like a pup. She loves long walks and her nap time too. She gets along well with other dogs too.
If you're interested in making Fiona part of your family please fill out an application via our website www.sparkrescue.org.
Fiona is spayed and microchipped dewormed groomed and has a very clean healthy smile now.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fiona, a Santa Barbara Maltese/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier for sale in Santa Barbara, or seeking a Maltese/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Santa Barbara.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa Barbara already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa Barbara breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier breeders who help with Maltese/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa Barbara paves the way for another one to be saved.
