Maya was left behind by her original owners in West Dallas when they moved out. She was being fed by a local neighbor but got hit by a car when crossing one of the streets. She suffered a broken hind leg that began to heal improperly. She was rescued and underwent surgery to repair her leg. Her leg has healed strongly although she has a slight limp. This does not slow her down and she has blossomed into a very smart and energetic girl!
She is house broken, crate trained, walks excellent on a leash and loves to play catch and tug! She also likes to soak in the water and sunbathe outside. She knows how to sit and bow down as well! She is very playful and does great with kids, people, and other dogs but not so much with cats. Maya had a rough start but she is a young ,loveable, and affectionate girl ready for a forever home!
If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet!
The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter.
Maya is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.
