Facts about Zlatan

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever/Jindo Mix
  • Color: Black
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
Zlatan is one of 15 dogs that we are rescuing from the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand. Zlatan came to the park together with 10 siblings at a very young age in October 2014. They came from a temple where no one could take care of them. Zlatan has been waiting years for someone to adopt him but the adoption prospects in Thailand are not that of Colorado. We are certain that his forever family is waiting here. Zlatan cannot wait to catch his freedom flight so he can explore the Rocky Mountains! Zlatan is great with other dogs and we've been told that he never causes any problems in his pack. He leans on the more submissive side. We aren't totally sure what breeds he really is but this is our best guess! Zlatan weighs in at about 33lbs. He is great with people and loves to follow the volunteers around and go on walks. He is a great boy who will make someone very very happy! He is flying into CO at the end of the month and would love to be greeted by his forever family.

If you're interested in adopting him please email us at Thanks!

About Sunshine Canyon Dog Rescue

Our Adoption Process...

- Complete our adoption application.
- Email your finished application to Please put the dogs name in the subject line.
- Be patient & understanding. It may take a couple days for us to go through your application & get back to you. We are dedicated to finding the right home for each dog. The dog you are interested in might not be a good fit for you but that doesn't mean its the end of the road. We will work to find you a compatible dog!
- Upon approval we will discuss details of pick up & follow up care.
- Because the majority of our dogs come from out of state; most of our adoptions are done before you meet the dog. We make up for this by doing a mandatory 1 week foster period. We treat it like an adoption (w/ contract & payment) but you have a week to make sure its a good fit. If you decide within in the foster period that you are not compatible, we will reimburse your adoption fee. All we ask is that you continue to foster until we can find a forever home. Our adopters often say that our foster period is much better than a pressured 15 minute meet n greet in a shelter. We cover most medical costs within this week period.
- After the week period we are still a resource for you! We are always happy to help from training to kinds of dog food, we are here for you.
