Oooh, look at him! That's a common reaction when people see this gorgeous blue merle beauty, and can you blame them? Mr Bojangles is one of our kids with a story, because not all dogs have an awesome start in life. Things were not going so well for our boy, so he packed his bags and skedaddled from his awful life, found his way to a die hard dog lover and we're so glad he did. Mr Bojangles showed up at our vollie's workplace and as she reached down to look for tags on his collar, she came back with a handful of his blood...his collar was deeply embedded in his neck! This boy's kind nature was immediately apparent as he let his new found angel rush him to the vet for much needed help in getting that collar out of his flesh. Of course when you find a dog with a badly embedded collar in his neck, you don't expect much by way of manners, and Mr Bojangles was no exception. Rough around the edges, but the kind heart shown through and with time, patience and the help of a good trainer, our boy has turned into quite the awesome dog buddy these days. What's the next chapter in the story? Find this super guy a home of his own! Mr Bo Jangles learned his lessons well and is now housebroken, crate trained kiddo who loves a good game of fetch, and then sacks out for a good sofa snuggle whenever he gets a chance. Road trips are great fun, especially when they include a drive-thru, and he'll never spill the beans when you stop off for the guilty pleasure of burger n long as you share! Mr Bo Jangles is obedient and knows several commands, he walks well in public and loves any excuse to go for a hike in the woods. One footnote worth mentioning, Mr Bo Jangles requests that he be the only pet in the home. He figures it took him this long to find an excellent life and he would like to have his new human family all to himself. He's not at all aggressive, but we have noticed that he's afraid of quick hand and foot movements, so he'd probably appreciate if kids in the home were close to adult age. We're not sure the crazy shenanigans that young kids come up with would be his cup of tea, but we're certainly open to discussing before we label him no kids. This boy's lived through quite a bit and we want to find him an exactly perfect home after all he's been through. Does he sound like a guy you'd like to help write his happily ever after chapters with? We dig this guy and you will too, drop us a line at and we'll get started on his next happy life chapters!

Our adoption fee is $195. This covers spay/neuter, microchip, microchip registration, all age appropriate vaccines, and any needed vet care.

Our Adoption Process...

Adoption Approval Process for South of the Bully

• An Adoption Application must be completed and approved. We call and check vet references to make sure any current pets are up to date with vaccinations and check length of time under vet care. We review all their current pets and ask questions about their temperament to make sure the dog they want to adopt would be a good fit.

• If a dog has been chosen, a meet and greet is arranged if requested AFTER the application is approved. If they have other pets, we also like them to meet at this time, if possible.

• The final step is a home visit. If the home visit is approved the potential adopters can begin their 14 day trial adoption period. Our adoption fee is $195 which includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations and microchip. If for some reason the dog isn’t a fit in their home we refund $95 of the adoption fee within the 14 day trial period. This is all listed in our Adoption Contract.

• We offer training support and resources for the lifetime of the dog once adopted. Our contract states that if for any reason they cannot continue to provide care for one of our dogs that it be returned to our rescue.
