Facts about Poppy
I am already spayed.
POPPY is a stunningly beautiful little female Siamese mix kitten who is cream colored with gray points. She's about 3 months old. She has a long, slim body, and her coat is an easy one to care for, with short hair and little shedding. Siamese cats are known for their intelligence and sociability. Poppy got off to a rough start, coming to us covered with fleas after being found in someone’s backyard. She is now healthy and flea-free, and within a few days, this little girl was winning the hearts of everyone she came in contact with. Like most Siamese cats, Poppy is a bit of a talker -- but so far it is just a squeaky little meow, which she uses when she wants attention. Anyone adopting this girl needs to be forewarned that she is extremely sociable and affectionate, wanting to cuddle up in bed with you, knead on your chest and lick your face, and spend lots of time in your lap. She is also very playful, and runs up and down the stairs chasing her toys. She would do best where someone is home alot so that she isn't left alone all day. We have discovered that Poppy becomes very jealous of the attention that other kitties in the household are receiving, so she would probably be happiest as an only cat. Her adoption fee is $110 ($200 for 2 kittens), which is stricly to help cover our costs. Poppy is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV/FELV, microchipped, deflead and dewormed and comes with a free vet visit. She is currently in foster care. Our mission is to provide care and find loving homes for companion animals of our community, with a focus on those with special needs. Currently we only work with Cats. We offer temporary housing in foster homes until they can be placed through our adoption process. We have adoption centers within both Petsmarts in Eugene, at Chad Drive, near Costco, and 29th and Willamette; PetCo by Valley River Center and Wags Emporium on Coburg Rd. WCDC works with humane societies, other animal rescue groups, the public and government animal services agencies to offer them relief from their overpopulation problem. All cats in our custody receive the medical care they need. WCDC is a non-profit organization. All money raised is used to help WCDC save as many animal lives as possible.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Our cats can be seen at Petsmart on Chad Drive and on Willamette St, at Petco near Valley River Center and Wags Emporium on Coburg Rd, seven days a week during normal business hours. We do have adoption counselors available on weekends or by appointment or from 11-4pm Sat.-Sun.
Our Adoption Process...
All potential adopters are required to complete our application and contract. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. These documents are available through e-mail or at our adoption events. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the dog or cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet. All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, De-wormed, treated with flea medication, spayed or neutered, and cats are felv/fiv tested.
