Meet our special boy Connor!
As you can see, Connor has a neurological issue that has weakened his back legs and requires the use of a wheelchair. But don't feel too bad for him! He gets around well and doesn't notice that he is different. He loves play, run and go for walks. He currently goes to rehab 4x a week to help strengthen his muscles and we've seen progress!
Connor doesn't have to be in this chair 100% of the time. He loves to snuggle on the couch or sleep with his people in the bed. Since Connor is 55 lbs and can't jump on things, he will need an owner who can lift him into his chair and on the bed, etc.
Like most dogs, Connor is very social and loves to play with his canine foster brother. He also enjoys going on car rides, chewing on toys and being a 'normal' dog.
Currently, Connor is crated when his foster parents aren't home and does well. Due to his neurological issue, Connor suffers from urinary incontinence, but 'belly bands' work wonders!
Connor is looking for a family who can see past his disability, but continue his progress.

Gateway Pet Guardians is proud to offer a variety of mixed breed dogs available for adoption. However, please keep in mind that we rarely know the genetic background of the animals we rescue and, as such, we cannot guarantee the exact breed combinations found within this dog. Just know that this dog is probably a variety of several different breeds that have combined to create one very amazing and unique animal.
Part of the fun of adopting a puppy from an animal rescue is the surprise that comes along with their growth. Their size at adulthood is simply a guess and cannot be guaranteed. When you adopt a puppy from GPG, we trust that you will love and care for this animal regardless of their actual adult size and physical characteristics.
