Name: Mesa Breed: shepherd/terrier mix
Approximate Age: 1-2 years old
Approximate Weight: 30-35 lbs
Currently Living at: an overcrowded rural shelter -- Mesa needs a forever home ASAP!!
Meet Mesa! Mesa is a 1-2 year old female shepherd/terrier mix. This sweet girl ended up in an overcrowded rural shelter through no fault of her own, and she needs your help to get out of there to safety! She is a happy, playful and energetic girl, and shares her small, outdoor kennel at the shelter with Sunday's Sable (also available for adoption). Poor Mesa can't wait to get out of there and start a new, better life with someone who really loves her and wants to add a loving family member to their lives.
Mesa says...Hi there, everyone! They call me Mesa, and they say that I'm just the most beautiful, sweetest girl EVER!! Do you have room in your heart and home for a pup like me? I have a beautiful white coat with brown spots that's smooth and super-soft…great for everyone to pet me (hint hint). :-) I weigh about 30-35 pounds (not too big), which makes me a perfect size for an apartment, house or condo!! They say I am probably some sort of shepherd/terrier mix…all I know is that I'm a happy pup and I love to play, get lots of pets, and give lots of doggie kisses!
Read below for more info on Mesa, and email email@example.com ASAP if you are interested in her!
Mesa says...I don't know why, but somehow I ended up in this scary shelter. It's a pretty scary place. I don't get to go outside, it gets really really loud when new dogs come in (which happens all the time), and no one comes to visit me. So I get more and more scared here. I really hope I can get out of this place really soon!
Don't you think I would look really cute as your new Facebook cover photo, romping around in the sunshine and rolling in the autumn leaves? And how I'd love to snuggle up by you while we relax inside after a day of fun adventures. I just really want to run, play, then snuggle, nap and dream of all the adventures we'll have together. I would just LOVE trips to the dog park and hikes in the woods -- I love to discover new things!
Sweet Mesa makes friends with everyone she meets. At around 1-2 years old, she is past the baby puppy phase (no all-night crying or bathroom breaks every 2 hours!) but like any dog, still needs lots of exercise to stay happy and healthy.
Mesa's new person or family will need to make sure she gets lots of socialization and playtime with other dogs and people to keep up the good social skills she has already! And like all dogs we adopt out, she'll need to go to obedience classes to build a strong bond with her people, and help her become a well behaved companion or family member. Mesa seems to like all the people she meets, and can't wait to wiggle her way into your heart and home.
Like most young dogs, Mesa might need a refresher on her house training when she gets to a new home. She will also need to go to obedience school so she can continue to be a well-socialized dog!
The adoption fee for this dog is $350, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, and spay/neuter surgery. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and e-mail it to at Sheila at firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP!
