Bert's Story...
Bert is in a foster home that is working with him to get him used to the world. Bert recently came to ATTR but before that we think he has lived his life in a cage. His world has been very small for his entire life. The ATTR staff worked with him and then an experienced ATTR foster home stepped in to help get him used to life in a home with a family to love him. We are looking for his forever home that will get plenty of help from the foster home to get him transitioned into his forever home.
A message from the foster:
This is Bert my new foster. He is apprx a 3 year old Terrier Mix. He is very skittish. He is very sweet and quiet. He would do well in a quieter home. He is starting to relax after 3 days but needs someone who is patient to earn his trust. He is good with other dogs. He will be available thru Alsip To The Rescue after he becomes more comfortable around people. Fill out an application if interested at www.alsiptotherescue.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bert, a St John Affenpinscher/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Affenpinscher/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in St John, or seeking a Affenpinscher/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in St John.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St John already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St John breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Affenpinscher/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Affenpinscher/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St John paves the way for another one to be saved.
