Camille is a gorgeous young girl who has recently arrived in her foster home. At first, Camille was very shy and scared, and didn't trust people. She seemed to be waiting for someone to hurt her. She seemed completely uncomfortable in the house, as if she had spent her entire life outdoors in somebody's back yard. However, there were three other GSDs living in her foster home when she arrived. She saw how happy and confident they were with people, and saw them going to people for love and affection. Now, Camille has come out of her shell, and has become a happy snuggle bunny. She is enjoying living in the house with plenty of healthy food and clean water, toys everywhere, a soft, cozy bed to sleep in, and all the petting and scratches she wants. We want Camille to find her forever home, and make up for the unhappy beginning of her life when she was neglected and mistreated. Are you looking for a sweet, affectionate young girl to shower with love and attention? Then come meet Camille and see if she might be the one for you!
GHGSDR volunteers are dedicated to saving as many German Shepherds in the Greater Houston Metro area as humanly possible - based on current resources of available foster homes, the rate at which we can find suitably matched adoptive homes, and of course, financial resources for veterinary care.
GHGSDR Shepherds mostly come from animal shelters where they are awaiting euthanasia. All of these Shepherd Dogs need loving, forever homes and families to call their own. We have several GSDs available for adoption and we regularly take in more Shepherds under our wings and into our Rescue Program, increasing the numbers of dogs available for adoption. Whenever we can, we also work with other dog rescue groups in Texas and nationwide to help ensure the safety and security of these wonderful animals.
Come Meet Our Pets...
GHGSDR holds Meet and Greets @ several Petco stores in the Houston area each month, usually from 1pm to 4pm. Check our homepage for locations and dates.
On our homepage we list the names of the dogs that are expected to be at the event - check 1 or 2 days before the event.
We hope that you will come on out and meet some of our wonderful GSDs. Meet our volunteers and learn more about why GSDs are a wonderful breed! See you there!
