Important Note

Butterscotch is best friends with Bennie. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
Bennie and Butterscotch were rescued by a family about two years ago. The mother was allergic to them but she still kept them indoors as beloved pets. This summer the family welcomed twins who were very premature. Since their mom is allergic to rabbits, their doctor recommended that the buns be kept outside away from the babies. The family loved the bunnies too much to keep them outdoors in the heat so they contacted Save SomeBunny. Despite their short time living in a hutch they remember their good litterbox habits! We are fostering them while they look for a forever indoor home together.

About Save SomeBunny Rabbit Rescue, inc

About Our Rescue Group...

Save SomeBunny Rabbit Rescue, Inc. was established in 2014 by a small group of rabbit lovers who met while volunteering at the Irvine Animal Care Center. Over time we saw that rabbits with treatable medical conditions were sometimes candidates for euthanasia because the expense for cure, maintenance, or even end-of-life hospice would be too great for municipal animal shelters to justify.

We formed a non-profit 501c (3) rescue organization run entirely by volunteers to provide medical care and rehabilitation for Orange County shelter rabbits. Our goals include the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of treatable rabbits, plus public education regarding proper rabbit care.

We rely on public donations. 100% of monies go directly to our bunnies to pay for veterinary care, drugs & medical supplies, hay, pellets, fresh greens, housing, spay/neuter, advertising, event supplies, office supplies, toys and other needed environmental enrichments. The rabbits are housed with foster families during their treatment, rehabilitation, and while waiting for their forever homes.

Our Adoption Process...

We require potential adopters to complete a pre-adoption questionnaire, and to meet our bunny prior to adoption. If our rabbit is to be a companion to an current pet rabbit, we require that they meet prior to finalization of the adoption. The current pet must be spayed/neutered at least four weeks prior to the "bunny date". This introduction can take place at an adoption event, the adopter's home, or our foster's home. Fees are $60 ($100 for a bonded pair) and all rabbits are spayed/neutered and microchipped.
