This is Teddy, a definite gentle giant!! He is a big guy, about 5 to 7 years old, looking for his perfect forever home. He was fostered in a house with 3 dogs and did great with them! He would do best with another dog in the home as he loves to be social and really does not do well being alone. In fact that is his special needs problem. Teddy is afraid of constraint. He does not want to be kenneled and would probably only succeed if you have a fenced yard with an indoor/outdoor door that would allow him to come and go as needed. He is basically a livestock guarding dog and you would never have a better watch dog!
He loves affection and gives himself 'massages' by ducking under your legs when you are sitting and walking back and forth. He will also love you forever if you massage his hips/butt. Teddy is 75 pounds of pure love! We would suggest no small children as he tends to not realize his size and may knock them down. His life before rescue is unknown, so his adoptive family will need to be patient and understanding as he settles in and gets adjusted to a routine.
Teddy is housebroken and his adoption fee is negotiable as we would be working with his adoptive home and assisting with training. He is neutered, micro chipped, AND up to date on vaccinations. He will require work. If you think you have the heart and patience for Teddy, please fill out an application at the link below or email email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org . We will be happy to help him adjust to your home. Oh, and he can give you a HIGH 5!
