Meet Jake! He was released to the shelter by his owners, sadly Jake has had a rough few months.. His owners said Jake got loose a month or so ago and just recently came back home. When Jake arrived back home his tail had been chopped off and was severely skinny, covered in fleas and missing quite a bit of his hair. Jake's owners couldn't afford to take him to a vet and brought him into the shelter for care and treatment. Moment's after Jake arrived he started biting/itching his tail and is started gushing blood, he was rushed to the vet and they are having to amputate another part of his tail.. Jake will be looking for rescue to pull him from the shelter and help nurse him back to health. He will need to be giving lots of meds, and to make sure he does re-open his tail wound. Jake also needs some good nutrition and get some pounds put back on him! Jake is housebroken and is good with kids and cats and is good with other dogs but does play rough with some dogs. Jake is a Shepherd/ Husky mix that is only 2.5 years old and only weighs about 45 pounds currently. He has been neutered during his tail surgery and brought up-to date on his vaccines. The shelter would love to find a rescue to Jake, if you are interested in Jake please contact the shelter for more information!
