My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We have had our eye on Melvin for a while! We are so happy that he is healthy and ready to come see us and find his forever family.

Melvin is a 2 year old Shepherd mix and weighs around 55lbs. Originally he wandered up to a house belonging to a family member of one of the rescuers. It looked like he had been clipped by a car; the vet put his hip back into place but it wouldn't stay and poor Melvin was in pain. Not any more! Melvin has now had FHO surgery and also was treated for heartworm disease. He was a rock star at the vet office and has a whole fan club there. Our partner rescue raised the money to have him taken care of and now he is a happy, healthy boy who loves to run around and play with the other dogs in his foster family. He may always have a slight limp because of the leg length discrepancy but it doesn't slow him down one bit. His foster mom says he knows how to sit, shake, stay, and fetch. They have five children and Melvin loves them all! He is fine with dogs and cats, and loves everyone he meets. This guy is just plain awesome!

Melvin needs a foster family in order to come north and of course a forever family!

To learn more about Lucky Pup Rescue, please visit our website: www.luckypuprescue.org. If you have interest in any of our dogs, please fill out the application and we'll work with you to find a great match for your family: http://www.luckypuprescue.org/#!adoption-application/c1aw8.

Please note, we do not have a physical facility where our dogs are housed, they are cared for in our network of wonderful foster homes throughout New England. If you find a dog you would like to meet, our expectation is that, once approved, you will travel to meet the dog in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved

Thank you for considering rescue!
