We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.

Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.

Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC

Weight: 7 pounds
Height: about 6" at the shoulder..long and low

Fence needed?  no

Dannie came to us from a local shelter, and upon arrival we noticed that his back right leg was broken.  Unfortunately we didn't have a lot of information about him and we don't know how long his leg had been broken.  We took Dannie to the vet and scheduled surgery to have his leg pinned.  During the surgery the vet realized that the bone had been broken for far too long and the bone was too brittle to repair.  The vet took the next best course of action and had to amputate Dannie's leg.

Dannie is currently in foster care while he heals and recovers from his surgery.  Despite his injuries, Dannie has no trouble walking and getting around.  He has proven to be quite resourceful, and he uses the wall and his upper body strength to wedge himself up onto the couch.

His leg isn't the only part of Dannie's health that was neglected.  Dannie also has heartworms. Since he is very tiny, we've chosen the slow kill method of treatment.  Dannie will be adopted with with one year's of Triheart heartworm prevention at his adoption.

Dannie bonds with one person and prefers females over males.  He loves spending time with his person and wants to be around them. Dannie is very affectionate.  He likes to climb up in your lap and give kisses.  Dannie likes to go exploring outside and we are working on his potty training.

Dannie is sweet to everyone he meets and is looking for a low key quiet home.  Dannie would prefer an adult only home and he would love for his person to be home for most of the day.  He would be a great companion for someone that is retired and looking for a cuddle buddy.  He gets along well with other dogs, but larger dogs scare him.  Dannie would make a great companion to another small dog in the house or he would love to be the only pampered pet!

UPDATE 1/12/2017: Dannie only has 3 legs but does not let that stop him. He is a absolute cuddle bug and loves to be snuggled up with someone at all times. Dannie is spunky and absolutely loves to be spoiled! He has a heart of gold and will be completely devoted to his owner.

House trained?  Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours.  We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.

My age:  reportedly 6 years old, so est birthdate 1/23/2010

Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.

To apply, please visit our webpage at and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application.

Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
