My name is Gizmo!
And when my family got a new doggie that decided didn’t like me I got pushed outdoors to be chained up in the yard. I must have sat there for some time as my chain collar grew into my fur so that it had to be cut off
Thankfully some kind ladies heard about me and contacted CAA Rescue where finally I joined them in foster care
I am a BIG DOG! I am a tall dog! I take up a lot of space when I decide to flake out on the floor (which is often)
So far I am dog friendly with the dogs I have met and there are two resident dogs in my foster home and I get along just fine with them too. I enjoy my walks and am very calm on the leash I like to stroll casually rather than rush here and there and everywhere pulling people. But don’t get me wrong I am big and if I decided I am going somewhere you will be forced to follow so I will need an experienced doggie guardian
I am laid back about everything
I did meet some children and while I was ok with them I did show signs of being stressed even though those children were very calm and gentle so I don’t know why I was like that but I think my next home should be young child free.
I am clean in the home and really just an all around easy guy
I take my treats gently and so far have not jumped up on any of the furniture in my foster hoe
I was around cats and there was no reaction to them so if you have cats that have experience with dogs we can probably learn to coexist
I really am looking for some nice people who want to spend time with me out of the city and the hustle and bustle of busy cars and busy lives. I am calm and quiet and good but do need the space to be able to turn around
I just want to be happy! And loved and inside with you laying down by your feet with whatever you are doing… not alone outside by myself cold and lonely

If you would like to meet Gizmo at his foster home in Lachute please write to CAARescue@gmail.com we will ask you to complete an adoption application so that we can learn a little more about you and if you are a perfect fit for Gizmo we will make arrangements for you to meet him for potential adoption
A 3-Step process to adopt one of our foster dogs.
1. Fill the adoption form. It might seem long, but it’s the best way to find the right dog for you and your family!
2. We’ll arrange a meeting with the foster family of the dog you want to meet so you can see if s/he’s the right one for you.
3. If you decide to move forward, you’ll be asked to agree to a home visit, fill-in and sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.
Breed: originally listed as a Bernese Mix but we believe he is a possible mix of St Bernard and Great Pyrenees
