Shmi-Adopted's Story...
Shmi, a wonderful 2 year old border collie mix is now looking for her furever home. Having given birth to 8 wonderful puppies (The Star Wars Litter) she's now ready to move out of foster care and into a loving home.

Shmi loves her crate and will happily go into it just because and have a nap. She does great with her foster siblings and any other dog she meets. Shmi has already learned a couple basic commands and is fully house and crate trained. She's great on leash, never really pulling, and when off, she always checks in to make sure she knows where you are.

Being a Border Collie, Shmi is very smart and has been exceptionally easy to train. However, she would do best in a home where she'll have a 'job' to do. Agility, Flyball, Rally Obedience, Barn Hunt to name a few would be right up her alley.

If you'd like a loyal, loving, energetic, intelligent dog, Shmi's the one for you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shmi-Adopted, a Saskatoon Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Saskatoon, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Saskatoon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Saskatoon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Saskatoon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Saskatoon paves the way for another one to be saved.
