Facts about Jellybean

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Brown Tabby
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
DOB September 7, 2013.

Jellybean is a sweet, friendly, affectionate boy. He’s a “no-assembly-required” kitty who’s instantly at home (after a suitable exploration, of course!). When Jellybean arrived at this foster home he couldn’t make up his mind whether to look out the window or sit on his foster person’s lap. (Though truth be told he likes to sit on your chest more than he likes to sit on your lap!)

Jellybean is playful when the mood hits, but he mostly likes to just relax and be with you. He is calm and gentle and trusting; even his tail lashing means he’s especially happy and content!

Jellybean has been diagnosed with an allergy - to chicken we think. Fortunately, there are non-chicken foods readily available at pet stores now. He has to take medicine every day so he doesn’t develop a skin rash and scratch himself too hard. His allergy is under control now and his skin is nice and clear. On the vet’s advice we are tapering his meds down to a very low, maintenance dosage.

Jellybean gets along very well with other cats, but it would be best if they adapt to his dietary requirements. Unfortunately, he really likes chicken and will seek it out, finding stray kibbles or treats if they’re available.

It cannot be emphasized enough what a lovely companion Jellybean is! He would be very happy being king of his castle and having all the attention to himself. Adopt this sweet treat into your family today!

Our Adoption Process...

Decided on the cat or kitten you would like to adopt? Please call 416-538-8592, or email

An adoption counsellor will return your call and give you more details about the cat you are interested in and ask some questions about your home to make sure the cat will be a "purr-fect" fit. We are happy to answer any questions you may have as well.

You will be supplied with the foster home address to have a meet and greet with your kitty. If both parties are happy, you can sign the TCR Contract of Adoption, pay the adoption fee and take your cat home with you in a safe carrying case.

Adoption fee is $175 per cat. This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. It includes 6 weeks of free pet insurance. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

1. ALL senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopters choice, vs. our standard adoption fee of $175.

2. Our adoption fee for a bonded pair is $100 per cat, vs. $175 per cat.
