Poppy's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.

Poppy's Story...
Poppy is a pretty black and tan female German Shepherd who is about 3.5 years old. Her last owner passed away and she was left to wander loose in the country for 2 weeks before she jumped into the car of a Good Samaritan. At that point she came into our rescue where she has learned how to walk on a leash, sit, and we are working on stay. Poppy is great riding in the car, is kennel trained, is good with other dogs and loves people including respectful older children. She loves to play with other dogs and enjoys lots of attention from her owners. She is not good with cats. Poppy would love to join her new owners on walks, hikes, playing ball, and cuddling. She sure hopes Santa will bring her a great new home in time for Christmas

If you are interested in meeting/adopting Poppy, please fill out our adoption questionnaire which you can find at http://www.scgsr.org/adoption/aq/.

Poppy is Spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and comes with a collar, all included in adoption fee.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Poppy, a Walnut Creek German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Walnut Creek, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Walnut Creek.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Walnut Creek already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Walnut Creek breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Walnut Creek paves the way for another one to be saved.
