Meet Jackie!

Jackie was recently at the Ottawa Humane Society.  She was getting so stressed being in a kennel all day that the shelter staff reached out for help to move her into a rescue.  Jackie is currently at the Dog World Bedrock Kennels where she is having lots of fun but we would really like to see her with a foster family so she can learn what living in a house and with a family so she can learn to be a good house dog and family pet.

Jackie is about 1 - 1 1/2 years old and really just a sweet puppy.  She loves to run and play and would do great in a home where there are lots of activities for her to participate in and even have another dog to play with.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting this young pretty lady, please go to our website and fill out a foster home or adoption application at www.coonhoundrescue.ca

Please Note:   We are all volunteers and busy taking care of our foster dogs.  Please take the time to fill out our on-line adoption application if you wish to receive more information about any of the hounds that we have for adoption.  Filling out our application does not obligate you to adopt in any way.  It does, however, help us to determine if the dog that your interested in would be a good match for your family and lifestyle.

All of our dogs are fully vetted.  They have been vaccinated, altered, microchipped and heartworm tested and on prevention.  VISIT COONHOUND COMPANIONS WEBSITE TO SEE WHY ADOPTING A COONHOUND CAN BE A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! www.coonhoundcompanions.com

ADOPTION FEE:  $375.00

LOCATION: Jackie is currently in foster care in Almonte, ON.  With the help of volunteers, transportation to her forever home can possibly be arranged.  Don't let distance deter you! If you would like to give this beautiful girl a forever home please fill out our on line adoption application at Adoption Application

About Gentle Jake's Coonhound Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Gentle Jake's Coonhound Rescue is a small, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the memory of my beloved coonhound Jake. Our volunteers are dedicated to helping homeless and abandoned coonhounds find loving and permanent homes as indoor pets. We are based and operate in Ontario. We have been rescuing these wonderful hounds since 2003. We are also a member of Coonhound Companions where our goal is to educate the public about misconception that hounds do not make good family pets. We want to share our love of coonhounds with the whole continent, with hopes of inspiring dog lovers everywhere to consider adopting a coonhound.

Come Meet Our Pets...

If you would like to meet one of our hounds please contact us as they are located in foster homes throughout Ontario. We always in need of more foster homes. Please contact us to find out how you can help a coonhound today!

Our Adoption Process...

All adoptive homes are required to go through a screening process that includes a telephone interview, filling out an application, reference checks and a home visit. An adoption donation is required to offset some of the costs incurred in caring for and re-homing each coonhound. Bluetick Gentle Jake's Coonhound Rescue remains committed to each animal for the rest of its life and if, at any time and for any reason, the adoption does not work out, we require that the hound be returned to us.
