Walnut's Story...
Walnut is a sweet Hound mix puppy. He came to our rescue after his mom was killed by a car while she was trying to move her pups. We have estimated his birthday to be May 14, 2016.

Walnut is fun loving, playful, and loves to give kisses. He is doing well on housebreaking. Walnut loves other dogs, cats, and people of all ages..he LOVES children! We do require that Walnut's adoptive home has a fenced in yard and be enrolled in puppy classes.

If you are interested in Walnut, please contact us at info@rornfp.org. Please note, we do not have a building, so there are no viewing hours. Please email for an application as our volunteers may not be able to return your call promptly. Thank you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Walnut, a Oak Lawn Treeing Walker Coonhound/Australian Shepherd puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Treeing Walker Coonhound/Australian Shepherd for sale in Oak Lawn, or seeking a Treeing Walker Coonhound/Australian Shepherd puppy from a breeder in Oak Lawn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oak Lawn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oak Lawn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Treeing Walker Coonhound/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Treeing Walker Coonhound/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oak Lawn paves the way for another one to be saved.
