Lou Jean's Story...
Lou Jean was found as an emaciated stray. A client found her, called our county animal control thinking that she'd get the help that she needed. FIve days passed and she had to adopt her to save her life, as our shelter doesn't work with rescue groups to place pitbull type dogs, and/or seldom are they allowed to be adopted.

She was treated for intestinal parasites, spayed, and treated for heartworms. she is healthier now and ready for a forever family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lou Jean, a Elberton Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Elberton, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Elberton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elberton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elberton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elberton paves the way for another one to be saved.
