My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roxy is a pretty 8 year old, 13 pound, black & tan girl who is dreaming of a loving forever home.

Roxy lost her home and came into rescue and is waiting for her forever home in a wonderful foster home in Florida. Roxy is a super-cuddler. She loves to fall asleep on fast mom and snuggle deep for extra loving. Happy and upbeat, Roxy enjoys walks and does well on a leash.

Roxy gets along well with other dogs and although she does not live with a cat she has not reacted to kitties she has met when out for walks. Roxy does well with respectful children. Roxy would do well with a dog who wants a snuggle buddy rather than one who wants a high energy playmate. Roxy would be happy with a doggy or pal or as an only dog.

Roxy is house trained but like all dachshunds she will need to be confident in her environment to have good potty habits. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important.

Roxy is comfortable in her crate and will go in it without complaint. Roxy is a very easy going girl who is looking for love! Roxy loves to sleep in the big bed and would love a home where she can continue to enjoy this special time and privilege.

Roxy does LOVE to eat and when she came into rescue she had to loose a little weight. Roxy needs a home that will not give in to pleading eyes and over indulge her love of food. Roxy takes thyroid medicine 2 times a day and is doing very well with it.

Roxy is a sweet and loving girl just waiting for loving arms to come and show her love forever! Apply today and make Roxy’s dreams come true!
