Description:  Bruce, aka Mr. Bruce or Brucey B, is such a wonderful cat!  He is sweet, affectionate, playful, and gorgeous.  He has soft silky long fur and is an excellent customer for nail trims and brushing.  Bruce is a kid at heart who is super goofy and loves to hang out with his people and feline friends. Bruce came into foster with Saving One Life due to zero fault of his own, but instead was a typical victim of irresponsible pet ownership.  Purchased off of Craigslist as a small kitten, he was raised in an indoor only home with children or varying ages; however when his former owner (we say owner since she was never the forever mom Bruce thought he had when he was first brought home) decided to break up with her boyfriend and move out of her former home.  After one move to a new apartment, Bruce found himself abandoned and unwanted.  To keep him safe from potential harm, his foster Dad took the call to action and welcomed Bruce into his home.  After a negative result from his FIV/FELUK testing, Bruce was neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped as he should have been long before.  Bruce tells his foster family that while he isn’t happy to be the poster kitty for why its so much better to adopt than to shop, he is so glad that Saving One Life was there for him when he needed it the most!

Bruce is a super athletic boy who can jump almost 4 feet in the air in pursuit of a feathery play wand!  He also loves to play with feathers, bells, balls, mice, strings, just about anything!  He is also a great bedtime snuggler who isn’t one to try and sleep on his people’s faces, sleeps through the night without waking up his foster parents, and even is great sharer of space with his foster brothers and sisters.  One habit of Bruce’s that his foster parents have been working on (which his former owner must not have minded him doing) is going up on the kitchen counter to search for snacks or just to explore.  When his foster dad ‘catches’ him, Bruce looks at him like what? I didn’t do nuthin! A quick spritz of water from the squirt bottle and Bruce jumps right down.  He really enjoys being comfy in kitty beds and up high on stools or chairs, he would benefit from having a tall cat tree in his forever home to keep him active, mentally stimulated, and happy!

·         Needs a companion animal: While Bruce can get bored from time to time when in his foster bedroom by himself, he does have a knack for keeping himself occupied by either playing or snoozing on a soft blanket/bed in the sunshine.  If there is another kitty in the household, Bruce does warm up pretty quickly, and only took a few days to feel comfortable with his foster family’s resident cats (14 yo active, frisky male, 13 yo quiet male, 5 mo active sassy female)

·         Good with dogs:  we heard that Bruce’s former family had dogs, but are not sure of how long they lived together or what kind of contact they had.  Bruce did not meet any dogs while in foster care.

·         Good with children: There were several kids who lived at Bruce’s last house ranging in ages from under 10 to preteenagers. Since Bruce is a bigger boy, we would recommend well behaved kids over 6 years old.

Health information: All cats and kittens will be spayed or neutered, FeLV / FIV tested, receive vaccinations appropriate for age, preventative deworming, and microchipping prior to adoption

About Saving One Life

About Our Rescue Group...

Saving One Life is a completely foster based, volunteer run, no kill rescue. Our motto is that although we can't save the world, it makes a world of difference to the ones we do save.

We primarily work with cats and kittens of all ages. We frequently take in "behavioral cases" including semi-ferals needing rehabilitation. We do take in purebred cats of all kinds but specialize in the Cornish Rex and Devon Rex. We occasionally have small dogs to medium dogs available. The majority of our animals come from the euthanasia list at the pound or off the rescue list at the humane society. We do have occasional owner surrenders, but we prefer to help those most in need first.

If you find a litter of kittens or your cat accidently got pregnant - please contact us if you are able to foster them. We cannot take in more animals without foster homes. All supplies and vet care will be taken care of - all you have to do is open your home and heart to them until they can find homes of their own!

All of our cats & kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, blood tested for felv/fiv, dewormed, and microchipped. Adoption fee's range depending on the animal's age and breed. All adoption fees assist other animals in our care - we do not have any paid employees. We are a completely no kill group that provides sanctuary to any "unadoptable" animals that come into our care including hospice care. Our animals all live in homes with foster parents so that they can be acclimated to all sorts of situations and so that they can live as a part of a family until finding their "forever family" instead of in kennels or cages.
