I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
From his foster: Redd is 15 lbs, fixed, UTD, potty trained for the most part, he would be easy to train if there were not so many dogs in this house. He really wants to sleep with us, he likes to whimper to be let into bed, but then once he is in there- he jumps off. However if I am sleeping on couch, he cuddles right up. Probably the amount of dogs that go to bed with us is not appealing to him. He is extremely handsome, he loves humans. I could not see him having a mean bone in his body. He is dominant over other dogs, so being an only is probably ok, or with a submissive female, I'm sure he would be fine. He is currently on low dose of Prozac; as when we first got him, he was extremely obsessed with our other foster Charlie. Charlie was not too happy about it. Prozac has helped this issue and so has fixing him. He is a completely different boy 2 weeks after being fixed. He is around 2 years our vet says. I think he would make an amazing companion in almost any situation. He could most likely be weaned off the Prozac in a new home. (without so many dogs around). If you are interested in meeting Redd, please fill out our online application at: www.secondchancesaelm.org His adoption fee is $250.

We will do a home check and for this reason, most of our adoptions are limited to a 50 mile radius. Exceptions are made on a case by case basis.
The adoption fee varies based on the special needs of the dog. If the routine needs of the dog are higher the adoption fee of the dog is higher. Senior dogs adopted through SCS qualify for lifetime free exams. Adoption fees typically start at $150.
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip ID, collar and SCS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, free veterinarian exam, and plenty of post adoption support!
All dogs adopted through SCS are spayed/neutered before they leave our care.
