My name is Kit Carson and I'm a great big lovable, huggable teddy bear, at least that's what my foster mom thinks! I traveled hours to get here and was told that I was a super traveler, there was even a little dog in the car and I did fabulous if I say so myself!

I'm a white boxer mix, they think I might also be part American Bulldog. You can check me out, pretty handsome, huh? Of course, my FM thinks so! They say I'm a pretty easy going guy and very friendly, I don't think I've met a person, kid or dog I don't like. I even get along with cats, of course I like to play by chasing them. I'm having a great time playing, chasing and being chased by my foster sister.
I'm getting better on walks, I don't pull, but sometimes I crisscross and almost trip my FM. We are working on my walking skills so I'll be a great walker not just good! I'm pretty much housebroken and may have had an accident or two but doing better.

They say I need a fence in my forever home, because I can jump pretty high. But heck, I'm just over 2 years old, what kid my age doesn't like to jump! Although, I don't jump on kids or people, I'm really good like that!! :-) My foster mom said she needs to work with me on crating, I absolutely don't like it a bit, I get upset and will bite the bars and hurt my mouth if left in the crate. That's what the previous owners told my FM. I have not been left alone yet but will be soon.

I am neutered, have all my shots and HW negative. I am a real cuddle bug! I sleep in bed with my foster family and love to cuddle. I have so much love and affection to give that sometimes I think I'm going to burst! I am well behaved and will come when called.

I need to get into my forever home soon because I think my foster mom is falling for me, wow, women!

About Go Boxer Rescue of Greater Ohio

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a collection of men and women, along with our families, which may or may not include Boxers, who come together as a group to rescue Boxers in need and promote responsible pet ownership. We do this simply because we have a profound love for the best breed. Our rewards are placing animals in need into forever homes only after our volunteers have fostered them in their own homes for at least 7 days. Some stay longer depending on when the foster home feels the animal ready to start its forever life. In addition to love, shelter, and food, our foster families provide additional training and reinforcements for these wonderful animals. GOBR continues to offer support to adoptive families even after our fosters are placed in a permanent home.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We try to attend as many events as we possibly can within proximity to our volunteers homes. Many of our county shelters and local pet stores promote events that allow the rescues to come and show their wares!

Our Adoption Process...

A completed applicaiton to adopt is required for ALL applicants. We process them on a first come, first served basis. Standard information is asked for, such as 2 non-related personal references, a vet reference if one is available, and home visit. If you are a renter we also need landlord info to verify you may keep a Boxer.
Pervious breed experience is a plus, but not required. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt and be financially able to care for a pet properly (annual checkups-shots and heart worm preventation monthly). An adoption contract is required. If you can no longer care for your adopted pet, it must be surrendered back to the rescue.
Our fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm test, and all age-appropriate vetting.
