From the Foster: Dexter is super sweet and full of energy. When I first brought him home he was really afraid of elevators and stairs. I don't know if that was just because he is a puppy and had never seen them or if it was something else. He is now over his fear of elevators and we are now working on the stairs. He is awesome at going to the bathroom outside! We have maybe had two or three accidents inside, but I don't believe that was his fault, but ours for not taking him out in time. He is not a fan of his kennel but we are working on that. He is not a fan of being alone either, he is my little shadow. Follows me from room to room, sometimes he is okay at waiting for me while I get ready in the bathroom, sometimes he absolutely has to be in there with me. We are also working on our chewing on everything he finds. I know this is because he is puppy, so we are working on that. He has chewed through two toys already, a pair of shoes, a pillow, some sheets, but again I know it is because he's a pup. He is wary of other people and dogs. He does not get aggressive towards them, but steers clear of them. With my supervision, I let a little girl come up to him slowly and pet him and he did well. He did a combination of trying to run away and coming back to lick her hand. But he is definitely not an aggressive dog and I have never felt I should be scared of him. Dexter will be an excellent dog for someone who likes to exercise. He has so much energy and just loves to run! He does pretty awesome at staying on your side as your run along. But he does get distracted because he is a puppy so you have to pay attention, but again a little more work and he will make an awesome running buddy. When he sees a squirrel or bunny he feels the need to try and go after it. He is an awesome foot warmer, lays right on your feet. Loves his belly scratched. Recently became a beggar when we sit at the table, working on that too. He really is just the sweetest pup I think I have ever met, and you can just tell when you look at him. I haven't had the opportunity to test him with cats and think he needs more work with small children because he has so much energy and likes to jump on people.
