Jimmy can be sensitive fella who hasn't quite gotten used to his new environment here at the shelter. He can be nervous at first in new situations and prefers to take things slow sometimes. Jimmy would do best with adults only, or older children who can respect his boundaries. He has a positive history with other dogs, although we recommend introductions be done thoughtfully. Once Jimmy knows who his friends are, he has plenty of affection to offer. Since he was having a hard time adjusting to shelter life, Jimmy is available for adoption from his foster home. His foster mom has also found that he really enjoys taking walks and car rides. Does this precious guy sound like a great match for you? If so, please contact our foster department at 503-285-7722 ext. 218 to arrange a meeting! A training consult will be provided prior to Jimmy's adoption.

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip ID, collar and OHS I.D. tag, initial vaccines, courtesy veterinarian exam, 30 days free PetPlan health insurance for Oregon Residents and plenty of post adoption support!

About Oregon Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

•Visitors can meet one-on-one with pets in our "Get Acquainted Rooms." Bring the whole family--even your dog.
•To meet one of the animals in foster care, contact the Foster Care Department by calling (503) 416-5025 or email to set up an appointment. If provided in the animal's description, you may directly e-mail the foster care volunteer.
•If your pet meet is a success, you'll need to complete an adoption application (please do not fax or email the application, although you can download it and fill it out before you visit).
•You will be interviewed by an OHS adoption assistant to be sure you are familiar with any special needs the animal might have.
•We have a variable adoption fee policy based on an animal's age, breed, temperament, behavioral issues, and physical condition. Learn more here. If you are over 60 years old, be sure to ask about the adoption discount offered through the Pets for the Elderly Program.

Our Adoption Process...

To adopt a pet at OHS, you'll need to fill out an adoption application and complete an interview with an adoption specialist. But what's more important is everything that comes before the application and the interview, namely, finding the best match possible.
