My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Marta was rescued from a kill shelter. She had one baby (a mini-me named Nadia) and both were nursed back to health. We do not know what happened to the rest of her litter.

Marta is one sweet calico. She loves to snuggle and can't get close enough to you! Marta is missing a few teeth, but that doesn't impact her appetite. We joke that she has a snaggle tooth and sometimes her tongue sticks out. It's very cute. Marta loves to play with dangling toys and rub her head on your forehead (sort of like eskimo kisses). She is a real sweetheart and will capture your heart if you give her the chance.

Marta's special needs relate to lung damage from exposure to heartworms. It causes her breathing to sound "wheezy" at times. There is not really anything special to do except give her monthly preventative and keep an eye on her to make sure she is not in any distress. We will gladly discuss this situation further with a potential adopter.

Marta is negative for FIV/FeLV, up-to-date on shots, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. The adoption fee is $ 90.00.

Planned PEThood hosts adoption events each weekend at several locations.
1) the John's Creek Petsmart (Corner of McGinnis Ferry Road and Peachtree Parkway in Suwanee)
2) the Mall of Georgia Petco (Buford Drive in Buford)
3) the Lawrenceville Petsmart (Lawrenceville Suwanee Road at HWY 120 in Lawrenceville).

If you would like to meet Marta or know which adoption site she will be attending this week, please call her foster, Michele Stepp, at 630.303.0233 or email at michele.stepp@gmail.com.
