427's Story...
She really doesn’t have a name; we just call her “427” (the number on the tag she was wearing when we picked her up). A darling young female Shih Tzu mix with a silky non-shedding tan coat, we guess she was born in 2014. She arrived at the Safehouse with her sister, Yorki, on 09/20/2016. We know nothing about their history but it is obvious both dogs have been bred. Two days after she arrived, 427 came down with kennel cough which quickly developed into a severe case of bacterial pneumonia. Poor little 427 faced the fight of her life, but she survived and is now a waggy tailed very underweight but otherwise healthy Shih Tzu. Down to a skeletal 8 pounds, she has a hearty appetite and should be back to a normal 10-12 pounds in no time. 427 is playful, quiet and well mannered; a huggable, loveable and very friendly little sweetheart. With her ever-wagging tail, she is people friendly, wants to be petted and is eager for hugs and treats (especially treats!!). 427 is crate trained, uses the doggy door and weewee pads so house training to a normal home and schedule should be uneventful. 427 enjoys the playful companionship of other small dogs, she loves to play and wrestle or just curl up and snuggle (especially with Yorki, her beloved sister). Keep in mind, 427 is no couch potato lap dog, more than just a back yard, 427 will need a home where she will have daily “on-leash” walks. A perfect companion dog, she requires no special care, only the warmth of a loving home and a very special family that will love and care for her forever. 427 is spayed, microchipped, current on all vaccines, heartworm and flea/tick preventative, and she has had a complete physical and dental. The adoption fee for 427 is $350.00.
