Addie is a great dog who loves people and wants a lot of attention. She prefers a home with no other dogs and only older children, over age 12. She has been with our family for four years, but our shepherd mix is too dominant for her more reticent personality. Addie was rescued from a home where she did not receive proper veterinary care. She had had a litter of puppies around the age of 1 - 1½ and had a collapsed uterus. She is currently on medication for separation anxiety and is having a difficult time adjusting to our recent move to a new home. She is very loving and just needs a home with someone who has time to give her the attention she desires. Please call Rebecca at (865)255-6825 if you are interested.

About Shelter Animals Rescue Group (SARG)

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small, all-volunteer, 501(c)3 nonprofit rescue group, with emphasis on mixed-breed dogs and cats. We adopt primarily from our local animal shelter, although we occasionally take in hardship cases. We also assist individuals in our area by advertising on our website animals they need to rehome, if the animals have been spayed/neutered. We gratefully accept donations, and we need volunteers for many events. More than anything, we need foster homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

As a volunteer group, we do not have a facility. Our animals reside in foster homes and boarding kennels. We show them regularly at the PetSmart store on Parkside Drive in Knoxville the second Friday of each month, 4 to 8 p.m., as well as by appointment.

Our Adoption Process...

Cat adoption fee is $125, and $145 for dogs. We attempt to match the animal's characteristics with the family and their lifestyle. We require an application form, which becomes part of the adoption contract, a personal or phone interview, veterinarian reference if applicable, home visit, and an additional agreement about how the animal will be treated. Cats must be indoors only, not declawed. Dogs must be fenced or leashed when outdoors and treated as part of the family--indoors as much as possible, and always at night. Adopter agrees to provide regular veterinary care, and to return the animal to us if they ever give it up. We reserve the right to check on the animal's welfare from time to time, with appropriate notice.
