Smokey's Story...
*****Adoption Pending*****

Meet Smokey! We know he’s not an aussie, but we won’t hold that against him! This 3 yr old neutered cattle dog has excellent house manners and gets along great with the dogs in his foster home. At three years old, he is past the puppy stage and the hard work has been done. When Smokey is not outside playing with the dogs in his foster home, he is hanging out with his foster family. Smokey is a beautiful compact boy who offers you a paw after being introduced. This boy has a great heart and we think he will give his all to his family. Smokey has some great untapped potential; he is smart as a whip and wants to learn more about the world and all the wonderful things it has to offer. After living next door to a day care, we think Smokey might enjoy the predictability of an adult home. As he’s still in his prime, Smokey will need some activity for his body and his sharp mind and would probably rock obedience classes and more! If you think you can provide the 2nd chance this dog so much deserves, fill out an adoption application. If you don’t have a fence, please let us know how you would keep Smokey active on a daily basis while also keeping him safe.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smokey, a Minneapolis Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Minneapolis, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Minneapolis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Minneapolis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Minneapolis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Minneapolis paves the way for another one to be saved.
