My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Tinkerbell (fka Nova). Tink is a 2 yr old Italian Mastiff with lots of love & loyalty to give. She's had the run of her foster home almost since the day she arrived- no accidents in the house, nothing broken or chewed. As she becomes more comfortable in her foster home, her personality is really starting to come out including the fact that she thinks she is a 90 lb. lap dog. She's also testing a little bit to see just how firm the rules are. Needless to say with any giant breed you need to be in charge, firm but positive. She's very sensitive to the tone of your voice and eager to please. She does like to go for a walk but how well she does on leash is hit or miss, definitely something her new people will want to continue to work on for her to be happy, healthy & well adjusted.

This breed is a more active than some other mastiffs. Tinkerbell likes to play fetch, chew on her bones and play tug-o-war. After only a week in foster she was subject to a house full of people (really strangers to her) as young as 2 1\2 years old and she took it all in stride. At the shelter she was around other dogs and got along fine. If she's over excited to see you she may try to jump up or grab your arm\hand in her mouth which she's knows she shouldn't do but sometimes finds hard to resist! Anyone who's had successful experience with similar breeds will find her to be an exceptional companion and a very easy transition.

To be considered eligible to adopt this beautiful girl, you will be required to have a secure, fenced yard. We will be doing a home check as well & we do feel previous large breed experience is important. She is spayed, current on all vaccinations & micro chipped.

Please visit heathersfosterdogs.org to complete and submit your adoption application if you are interested in this beautiful girl!

Tinkerbell's adoption fee is $255.
