Candy Kisses's Story...
Candy Kisses's Story...
Kisses is about a year old. She is very sweet but is also shy and the shelter is scary to her. She was a stray that went unclaimed so she is now looking for a loving family to keep her safe. Candy Kisses seems to like dogs and is $80 to adopt.
The Humane Society of Stillwater operates an adoption guaranteed, nonprofit shelter that exists on donations from the public. We house dogs and cats here until they are adopted permanently into good homes. The Humane Society shares a building with the City Animal Welfare shelter, and aids in the adoption of animals there. Stillwater's Animal Welfare division can only hold animals for a limited time period; at the end of that period, they are euthanized. Whenever space is available, the Humane Society takes in those animals that are at risk of being euthanized.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Pets can be visited at our facility during the hours we are open
Tuesday Thru Friday - 1pm-6pm
Animals who have special needs/are less adoptable may also be shown by appointment outside of open hours. Offsite events are occasionally held as well.
Our Adoption Process...
We require an application, but will do same day adoptions if all the necessary information can be acquired (vet reference, landlord approval). The adoption fee for the majority of our dogs is $80 and for cats it's $50, which includes spay/neuter, vaccinations current, a negative heartworm test (dogs) or FIV/Feleuk test (cats) and a 2 week health guarantee.
