After a string of bad luck, divorce, job loss, and now his home is being foreclosed on, Ernie is going to be homeless and literally on the street on Monday. The plea from his dad literally has us in tears. His dad explained, " I am strong, I will figure it out, but having to say goodbye to the only thing I have left, my dog Ernie is killing me". Ernie's father doesn't know where he will even go, the local town shelter is full to capacity, and his dad explained he would have to put Ernie to sleep. We can't let this happen, we have vowed to help Ernie, a beautiful 6 year old German Shepherd dog. Ernie is a sweet boy, great with people, and strangers. He has lived with another small dog in the past and did well. We are desperate to find Ernie a home. We can not let him be put to sleep or go to a shelter, German Shepherds do not fare well in shelters. His dad was asking neighbors and friends, but no one can take Ernie in. His dad has until Monday, and then he will be homeless. Please help us to help Ernie. Share his story. Go to www.nycsecondchancerescue.org to fill out an application to foster or adopt.
This is extremely urgent. We would love to try to keep him in a foster while his dad gets back on his feet. At this point we are looking for any help, donations are also helpful to keep Ernie in a private kennel for a bit, to see if his dad can take him back.
