Our rescue will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express Saturday, October 22nd from 1-4pm and Sunday, October 23rd from 12-3pm. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated and microchipped.
* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue
This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, October 22nd from 1-4pm and Sunday, October 23rd from 12-3pm or until adopted. However, we do meet with those who submit an application and are approved just prior to the event (by invitation only) and they are given the first opportunity to adopt. If you are interested in one of our dogs, we recommend filling out an application prior to the event to be considered. Applications submitted within 24 hours of the event may not necessarily be reviewed.
Cupcake is an 8 month old Terrier mix who weighs about 16.5lbs. She is a wonderfully sweet, loving dog. She is instantly a lover with people and other dogs. She is very playful. She lives currently with other dogs. She loves to play. In fact, it's the WWE at her foster home every evening when Mom and Dad come home. All of the puppy antics begin and she's in the midst of it! She is an option to go to the dog park or doggy day camp or join canine siblings in her new home.
Cupcake was turned into our rescue when she kept going over the short fence at her home and they couldn't keep her contained. She is currently at a foster home in a fenced area of 5ft and can't get out! She also was welcomed into the house and the outside fence isn't so tempting! Cupcake is crate trained. She seems to like her crate. At least at night she doesn't mind going in and sleeping. She is an option to live in an apartment or condo setting as she's not a nuisance barker.
Cupcake will not have a coat that continually grows. It is a wire type of coat so not one for those who have allergies but it's also not a high shedding coat or one who needs lots of grooming. Cupcake is an option for those homes who have had a dog in the last 5 years. If there are kids in the home, they need to be over the age of 7. She is also an option for a home with cats.
**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)
**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
