Murphy was given up by a couple who had him for seven years - since he was a puppy. Once they brought a new baby home they no longer wanted him, so they dumped him in a high kill shelter in South Carolina. The shelter staff did everything possible to get him adopted and they kept postponing his PTS date because they were so attached to him. It is harder to get 'plain brown dogs' adopted even when they are as sweet and special as Murphy! The plea that went out from the shelter staff said: 'We have been trying all week to place him with no luck. He is so sweet and dog friendly. We are all biting our nails because we love him and he does NOT deserve to die.' When we saw his face and read his story we could not say no to Murphy and we are thrilled that he is now safe. If you are interested in meeting Murphy please let us know - this boy will put a smile on anyone's face! For more information, please see our website listing for Murphy
