Jim's Story...
Meet Jim! This guy is handsome as ever and would love to be your conversation starter! Jim is an energetic, wily guy who could use a hand learning, well, how to be a dog. You see, Jim came to us from another shelter and he is still learning how things work here. He is only a year old and really needs a fresh start as far as basic training and learning manners goes. He is a sweet guy who very much wants to be everyone's friend. However, we are not yet sure how he is with other dogs, cats or kids. We would love to introduce you to him, just come on in and ask for him!

We will let you know Jim is available and able to have applications submitted once you've met. For more information, please give us a call at (302) 571-0111 or visit us at our center (701 A Street Wilmington, DE) Tuesday-Friday 12-7pm or Saturday & Sunday 12-5pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jim, a Wilmington Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pointer for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Pointer dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pointer breeders who help with Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
